The Es Baluard is a museum of modern and contemporary art. It is a stunning conversion within the city walls with magnificent panoramic views over the Old town, Marina and bay... fabulous Gallery shop, cafe and restaurant. A permanent collection of over 600 works from the 19th century to the present day, including paintings and sketchbooks by Miro, and ceramics by Picasso. There are always interesting temporary exhibitions and activities.. Entrance fee for adults, under 12yrs free, discount if you arrive by bike! |

Pilar & Joan Miró set up this wonderful gallery complex whilst living and working here for over 30 years. It is their old home, a gallery, museaum and sculpture garden within stunning architectual buildings. A centre for contemporary artistic creation in harmony with Joan Miró’s work, showing the artist’s creative studio, his working environment, materials and tools...The gallery houses his collection of work, along side a foundation for its preservation, education and to encourage new talent. - A bus/taxi ride away from the centre - bus 3 or 46 Closed Mondays - Admission charges - under 16yrs free |
